Investment Help Desk

The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Narendra Modi, inaugurated the “Investment Help Desk” at the FGI Business Centre on 10th September 2012.

District Collector Office, Vadodara and Federation of Gujarat Industries have joined hands to initiate a first of its kind venture to assist existing and potential investors in the district. This assistance will be primarily in generating awareness and providing relevant and timely information to the industries and investors regarding various lands related provisions. This Investment Help Desk will also handhold the potential investors and help them through the various processes of obtaining statutory permissions relating to land and help in fulfilling all due compliances. This Endeavour is also a manifestation of the collective commitment to usher in transparency, accountability and speedy service delivery in all land related matters of industry in the district. Together we would be striving to realize the dream of “Vibrant Vadodara: A Complete Investment Destination”.

This joint effort will be executed through the “Investment Help Desk” based at the FGI Business Centre and “Jan Seva Kendra” located at the Collectorate office, Vadodara. The said initiative will broadly encompass the following activities:

  1. Reception of the investor at the “FGI help desk” and compilation of the need of the investor.
  2. Preparation of a report highlighting the land required in terms of size of the land, purpose of use, pollution data, requirement of water, requirement of power etc. Such reports will then be forwarded to the “Jan Seva Kendra”
  3. Possible “Land Pockets” suitable to the above mentioned requirements would be presented as options to the investor. A separate database where prospective sellers can register their land would be separately maintained to facilitate identification of available “ Land Pockets”
  4. Once the said “Land Pocket” is identified all procedural compliances would be facilitated.

FGI and the Collectorate office have compiled a brief hand book on preliminary laws and procedures to purchase of land as a part of the information dissemination drive titled, “Land Provisions in Gujarat that facilitate Industrial Investments”.

FGI will extend help and guidance to the prospective investor in their interaction with the following departments:

  1. Power: Procedures and laws related to availing electricity from discoms or Transmission Company and matters related to open access. FGI would also undertake representation on behalf of the investor to GERC in specific matters.
  2. Excise: Registration and compliance.
  3. Vat: Registration and compliance.
  4. Factory inspectorate: Registration, procedures and compliance.
  5. Labour Department: Registration, procedure, compliance.
  6. Customs& DGFT: Registration, procedure, compliance.

FGI would have a panel of Experts in each of the above discipline who will mentor the investors and facilitate investment.
